Why Colorado Jeep Tours?

Owner and operator Will Colon has long family history in Cañon City going back four generations

We’re Locally Owned & Operated

Will Colon, owner/operator of Colorado Jeep Tours, has a long family history in Cañon City, going back four generations. His knowledge of the area, combined with over 25 years of experience in the tourism industry, allows Colorado Jeep Tours to give you, the guest, the care and adventure you want and deserve. The relationships he has built over a lifetime with private land owners, and the permits he’s obtained from the Bureau of Land Management, gives Colorado Jeep Tours access to Fremont County’s best terrain.

We Care About Your Safety

Tour vehicles are inspected by staff daily to insure your safety, and our jeeps are designed and modified with your comfort in mind. Our friendly, professional staff is handpicked for their knowledge of the area and their unique personalities. Our guides are background checked, drug checked, their driving records are reviewed, and our vehicle maintenance paperwork is inspected by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) regularly.

You’ll Learn, While Having Fun

Colorado Jeep Tours offer trips that cover a wide variety of topics, including western history, gold mining, local Indian folklore, gem prospecting, early settlers, law and order in the Old West (Canon City’s prison history), Jurassic-era fossils discovered nearby (paleontology), and the types of geological formations found in Cañon City and the Royal Gorge region. We are, in fact, known worldwide for our dinosaur finds, several of which can be found in the Smithsonian. And, let’s face it, dinosaurs are pretty cool, no matter how old you are.

You’ll See Amazing Things

Our tours offer a fun and interesting way to learn about Colorado and see unique and beautiful places. Some tours take you along the rim of the famous Royal Gorge, while others explore the bright red rock monoliths of Red Canyon Park. You might climb to the top of Fremont Peak for a spectacular 360 degree view of the Royal Gorge. Or, if you’re into mining history, a full day trip to the historic gold mining district of Cripple Creek and Victor (at almost 10,000 feet!) may be just the thing for you. Want to see ancient Indian petroglyphs or real dinosaur footprints embedded in rock? We can make that happen. But, no matter which tour you pick, all our tours offer a chance to see Colorado wildlife, including Bighorn Sheep, Mule deer, skunks, foxes, coyotes, and even an occasional Bear.
