The Jeep & Cowboy Chuckwagon adventure includes dinner! (7 – 8 Hours) Closed for winter. Available from May to mid-August.
If you want to see how the West was won, you’ll want to take this ride with us. After we spend an afternoon off-road jeeping on the Royal Gorge Tour, checking out incredible views of Pikes Peak, the eastern plains, and the Sangre de Cristo mountains, we’ll head for a local ranch for a good ol’ fashion Cowboy Chuckwagon. This is an actual Colorado ranch run by real cowboys and cowgirls. No actors here.
You and your family will be taken by horse and wagon to the camp where you will engage in the true cowboy experience, enjoying an authentic cowboy cookout with all the trimmings that will leave you needing to loosen up your jeans. After dinner, kick back and listen to some cowboy poetry, country singing, and wild ranching stories or bring your spurs over to the roping station for some horse rustling lessons or a friendly game of horse shoes. A short horseback ride is included for those that are interested. Helmets are provided by the ranch for your safety, at no additional charge.
Before sunset we will hop back in the “power wagon” (what the cowboys call the Jeep) and head back to town. This is a one-of-a-kind family experience. Farming and ranching are dying industries that are full of rich western history. This is an adventure that your family will talk about for years to come.
Gratuities for the Chuckwagon ranch staff are not included in the tour price. To book this family-friendly package we require 48 hours notice, and a minimum of 4 people. If you are a party of 3 or less, or if you are within 48 hours of the tour date, please email us or call 719-275-6339. We may be able to combine you with another party.
